It's not dumb at all, if you keep on checking rocks you'll definitely find a worm at some point.

The other question would be whether or not that effort of rock checking would be worth the effort, but that sort of foreach loop check works.

I got what they meant, I didn't mean that the saying was dumb but the way it was worded because it sounded awkward...

westerners tend to use more slangs or metaphors a lot. which is is why they end up wording some translations figuratively or metaphorically

As a westerner I guess you can say that we use a lot of figurative language or rhethorical devices but I think whoever was in charge of the script should've worded it differently because it wasn't even the metaphor that was wrong but imagiine having a conversation with someone and they said this... it wouldn't seem like a real persons talking to you.
